Paris Fashion Week

It is rare to leave Paris Fashion Week without seeing something beautiful. Whether it is the equine blondes who trot stilettoed up and down the Rue St Honoré; the left-bank skyline as seen from the Jardin des Tuileries, or the sun as it bounces from pillar to sculpted pillar on the Rue Rivoli,  France’s capital is enchanting and when the sun shines you feel you could stay there forever.

This time was no exception. Arguably the most sublime revelation was Alexis Mabille, ex-head of accessories at Dior, whose softness, femininity and silky elegance were visual sanctuary from the busy discord of the current 80s revival.

While I was there on an accessories-only basis, I was given his couture look book and spent much of my journey home in a state of moony desire. As a woman with a wedding dress to buy, can you blame me?
