This week Polish menswear blogger, Michal Kedziora, who runs MrVintage.pl featured our grey rib knit Scottish cashmere beanie as part of his review of men’s winter hats.
Although beanies are commonly worn with casual wear, Michal wears his with more formal and tailored outfits which is a growing trend in menswear as an alternative to traditional fedora style hats.
I think most men find a fedora and larger hats too much of a statement accessory for everyday dressing and the beanie a more understated way of keeping your head warm. Having said that, the contrast offered between a smart tailored suit and the casual, off duty style of a beanie makes a statement but in a more subtle way as illustrated below.
