I first discovered the French menswear blog, Comme Un Camion four years ago when they ran a feature on our men’s driving gloves and I’ve been an avid reader ever since. The direct translation on Comme Un Camion means like a truck which, according to them, comes from the French expression to be handsome as a truck. Quite why French trucks are considered handsome I’m not sure. However, boasting such unlikely lust objects as Francois Hollande and Gerard Depardieu perhaps the French paradigm for male beauty is unique to them.
Nevertheless, the blog which is updated daily and gives advice about men’s shopping, style, entertainment and lifestyle issues in a very engaging way is well worth a weekly perusal.
This week they featured one of our best selling men’s accessories, the Cavendish cashmere scarf. The article highlights the scarf’s best features; the softness of the cashmere, the elegant navy and grey houndstooth design and the sleek cotton pouch in which all our accessories are enclosed.

They even consider the provenance of the name Cavendish, plumping for either the cyclist Mark Cavendish or the 14th Century judge, Sir John Cavendish.
Although both good guesses, the scarves in our latest collection of cashmere scarves have been named after iconic and prestigious addresses in London. So we have Cavendish named after Cavendish Square in the West End, Fitzroy for Fitzroy Square in Marylebone and Albany as in the Palladian-fronted building off Piccadilly.
What appealed to me most about the feature is that it identified the scarf as a classic which lends itself both to work suits and weekend outfits; in their words an investment piece.
Here we’ve created two outfit looks, one for work and one for weekends that this classic will suit
Cavendish At Work
For work, add the Cavendish cashmere scarf to a grey woollen suit and compliment these textures with a matching navy and white microdot silk tie and pocket square. For styling, let the scarf fall to its full length and tuck under the lapels of your jacket to avoid flapping in the wind.
Cavendish at Weekends
When the weekend comes pair the Cavendish with a pair of straight cut jeans or chinos, a button down oxford shirt and a crew neck cashmere jumper or cardigan. With this outfit, the scarf will look great tucked into the cardigan but the length (175cm) will also allow the scarf to be looped round the neck twice for extra warmth.
Our collection of men's cashmere scarves has grown considerably over the years to include knitted and woven cashmere from England, Scotland and Italy in plain colours and classic pattern designs.
