Little Black Book: Shades of Pinck

When it comes to style blogging, few are more qualified than Megan – founder of Shades of Pinck. Not only is Megan a beauty queen, a model, coordinator of a leadership and etiquette program but she also has a degree in fashion merchandising and was crowned Miss South Carolina USA.

With these super skills, Megan has curated a virtual space which specialises in unveiling all the elements which serve to embody the ultimate luxurious lifestyle. Expect really pretty things, all coming together to form a bible on how to lead a life of deserved indulgence and how to apply little luxuries to everything you do – including travelling, entertaining and working. So much more than style, Shades of Pinck encompasses a total lifestyle – from the perfect dinner location, to tips on how to manage any demands on you in a way that they give you pleasure and not pain.

When it comes to summarising Megan’s style, we like to describe it as a mindful – where she selects key pieces that come together to look perfectly coordinated and not overdone. A big fan of accessories, Megan looks for traditional pieces and fuses them with a confidence which makes them totally contemporary. With that in mind, here we break down Megan’s three favourite purchases especially from Black and available to you now.

Black Cashmere Fur Bobble Hat

While a hat might not scream the ultimate statement in luxury, Megan is actually a huge fan of them for all the practicality they present. As Megan writes, “keeping your head and ears warm is one of the secrets to keeping your entire body warm” and she certainly lives by her own advice but obviously with a luxurious twist. In this case, Megan opts for understated cashmere – soft and supple and teamed with a fox fur pompom. By keeping her colour choice limited to black, Megan keeps her look chic and easily combinable with everything that the cold weather can throw at it.

Long Satin Gloves

Megan’s style is predominately ladylike, so it’s not surprising to see her channeling Audrey Hepburn with our long satin gloves. However, to keep this look contemporary, note how Megan opts for a black dress with a split and teams with red lipstick. Classic styling never goes out of date, but, as Megan reminds us, it’s always important to make it your own.

Brown Straw Fedora

Megan’s flirtation with hats transcends just winter, because a classic fedora forms part of her laid-back off duty styling. As Megan says “I would much rather be my most fabulous self at every occasion” and we love how she always finishes her styling off with little finishing touches that bring the whole look together.

Shade of Pinck acts a reminder to enjoy the finer things in life, to cling to classical styling but to always give it a modern update. To channel Megan’s style, opt for statement accessories and work hard to wear them well.
